Wrench

I made a wrench.

  1. The scene is looking really good. I like all the detail that your putting into it. That wrench looks nicely detailed as well. Are you modeling all your assets that high poly so you can generate normal maps off them? Just a little concern, 'cause that could take a lot of time. Good work though!

  2. Well I was shooting for kind of lower poly models. This model is just over 500 polys. I'm going to take your advice and use crazy bump for the normal map stuff. The only thing I plan on taking into Zbrush is the main asset, the boiler. The boiler is a main project for one of my other classes.

  3. That's cool dude. Just advising you to not go too overboard on polygons and to shift your polys in areas that the viewer is gonna see more is probably best. Did you set a triangle limit for your scene by any chance?

  4. I didn't set a limit for the scene yet. I've never really focused on modeling one complete scene (only various assets), so I'm not really sure on what to expect on total polygons. I have a number in my head but without having modeled a full scene I don't know how off the number may be. (It's around 50,000 polygons, is that too much?)
